St. Lorenz Youth Ministry

Welcome to another year of Youth Ministry here at St. Lorenz! Our Youth Ministry seeks to walk alongside students in grades 6–12 and their families as they grow in their faith and learn how to live it out. From weekly Bible studies to special youth gatherings, we want to encourage one another and show each other how beautiful it is to live with Jesus.

Weekly High School Opportunities

Sunday Evening Bible Study

Join us Sunday evenings in “The Rock” from 6:00–7:30 PM for a relaxed, low-key Youth Group atmosphere. We’ll have time to hang out, enjoy snacks, play games together, and spend about 30 minutes in Bible study.

We alternate between “large group” nights, where everyone is together, and “small group” nights, where we split into smaller groups for discussion and conversation. It’s a great space to ask questions, dig into God’s Word, and grow in your faith.

Our first Sunday Evening Bible Study is Sunday, September 20.

Tuesday Morning Breakfast Bible Study

High schoolers are invited to join us Tuesday mornings before school for breakfast and a short Bible study. Breakfast begins at 6:45 AM, and Bible study runs from 7:00–7:30 AM.

Need help getting to school afterward? Let us know! We’d love to help arrange a ride.

Breakfast Bible Study kicks off Tuesday, September 1!

Weekly Middle School Opportunities

Sunday afternoon Bible Study

Sundays in “The Rock” are a chance to hang out with friends, have some snacks, play games, and spend time in God’s Word together. We meet from 4:00–5:30 PM and set aside about 30 minutes for Bible study.

Some weeks we’ll gather as one big group, while other weeks we’ll break into smaller groups, led by Adult Leaders, for discussion and conversation. Small groups provide a great opportunity to have fun with friends, ask questions, and learn more about God’s Word.

Our first Sunday Afternoon Bible Study is Sunday, September 20!

FAQ's about Youth Ministry

Who is Youth Ministry for?

Middle School Youth Ministry is for students in grades 6-8, and High School Ministry is for 9-12 graders.

Can I bring a friend to youth events?

Yes! It does not matter if you attend St. Lorenz church or school, everyone is always welcome to join us for our youth events!

How do I find out more about youth ministry?

The best way to find out more about Youth Ministry is to join your student’s Church Center Group. There are groups for both Middle School and High School Ministry, and are for both parents and students. These groups include the full-year schedule, weekly updates, and regular emails about upcoming events, Bible studies, and Youth Gatherings.

What do you talk about?

Our Bible Study topics vary from specific books of the Bible, to topics that are relevant to every day life as teenagers. If you want to study something specific, let Mr. Sievert know!

Where do you meet?

Most of our youth events take place in "The Rock", located at 163 Churchgrove Road. For special events, we may meet in the Worship Center or off campus. These will be communicated in advance.

Are my parents going to be there, too?

Generally, no, they will not be. Your parents are encouraged to attend the Parents of Youth Bible Study, led by Pastor Eden, on Sundays from 4:00-5:30. Periodically, we have a Family Night. These nights are specifically programmed to get your whole family in God's Word together, and to have fun with other families! Regularly scheduled Youth Bible studies do not include parents.

I often have commitments on Sundays. Is it okay if I only attend youth group periodically?

Absolutely! Whether you can attend one Sunday a year, or every Sunday, we want to have you with us! Come as your schedule allows.

We want to be involved, but can't make Sunday or Tuesday. What can we do?

I’d love to help you find a way to be involved! If the regular Bible study times don’t work for you, let us know. I’m happy to provide Bible study resources and help you get a small group of friends together at a time that works for you. Whether that means meeting with a few friends in The Rock, gathering at your home, or starting another group at church, I’d love to help make it happen.

Contact Ben Sievert at bdsievert@stlorenz.org, and we can work together to find an option that fits your schedule.

How can I serve in Youth Ministry?

We welcome anyone who wants to help make our youth ministry happen. Are you an early riser who loves to cook? Help make breakfast on Tuesday mornings. Do you know someone who seems to always have your child's attention when they are talking? Encourage them to be a small group leader.
