Hello Friends,
By the end of today, our students will officially be on Spring Break. Hooray!!!
We thank God for the gift of rest, time off from school and work, family time and travel, and a change of pace (and perhaps scenery) that this week will bring! Even more important than Spring Break, however, is Holy Week, a time for believers in Jesus to slow down, focus, reflect, and follow our Lord through HIs betrayal, suffering, crucifixion, and resurrection.
The week begins with Palm Sunday as we join the crowds welcoming Jesus as He entered Jerusalem riding on a donkey. Then we gather with Jesus in the Upper Room on Maundy Thursday and receive the sacramental supper He started with His disciples that very night. After that, we spend Good Friday contemplating the depth of God’s love, the darkness of our sin, and the freedom of forgiveness Christ won for us on the cross. Finally, we come together to celebrate Jesus’ resurrection on Easter Sunday morning that proclaims His victory for us over sin, death, and the power of the Devil!
Whether worshipping with us in person or joining us online from your Spring Break destination, you can find all our worship times and locations by clicking here.
I really want to encourage you to make time for worship this coming Holy Week! These services shape us. They encourage us to focus on what matters most. They provide an eternal perspective for our outlook on life! As you’re making plans, please also consider who you might invite to join you. There may be someone in your life who just needs a simple, friendly invitation. Make plans, pick them up, talk about what they experienced, and what you believe!
As we enter this special time together, may God prepare you to receive His grace and mercy through HIs Son, Jesus Christ, our Lord!
Your Brother in Christ,
Pastor Brad
